Six of New Zealand’s most promising agritech scale-ups are pitching for potentially millions of dollars of investment at the ’10 billion mouths’ conference in Tauranga on Wednesday, 23 May.

They have been selected by Wharf42, NZTE & BCC as being representative of some of New Zealand’s emerging high growth, disruptive early stage agritech businesses that are demonstrating real potential for global growth. To fully leverage that potential, all are preparing to raise new capital as they build out their capacity for expansion.

The Hon Damien O’Connor will introduce the Start-Up Showcase session at ’10 billion mouths’

These are the companies that will be pitching to the international delegation of major venture, corporate and institutional funds who are attending the conference.

As well as showcasing some of the county’s best scale-up opportunity to the international delegation, we will also be showcasing some of the country’s very early stage talent on the main stage and in the Expo Area.

The Fonterra Start-up Showcase features two new and exciting looking start-ups, Marama Labs & Knode.

Marama Labs is a spin out company from Victoria University which is developing next generation spectroscopy instrumentation for optical analysis in the food & beverage industry. Knode is a mobile friendly IoT app and underlying platform that helps you track and measure any liquid assets that are important to your business from water levels / pressure, LPG to the real-time location of valuable assets across farms, wineries, cities & countries.

The Hon Damien O’Connor, Minister of Agriculture, Biosecurity, Food Safety & Rural Communities will introduce the Start-up Showcase on the main plenary stage at 12.45pm.

Raising capital and showcasing New Zealand’s emerging agritech talent is just one component of the ’10 billion mouths’ full-day programme. You can find more details about the conference agenda and the speakers at Techweek’s headline conference page at
