On Monday, I published a breaking post about a planned visit by Aussie VCs to New Zealand. At the time, I said that I was surprised that I had not heard more about the visit before then. That’s one hell of a shame.

28 Aussie VCs are now coming to NZ. That’s awesome!

The good news is that I received another update from Sue Hogan last night. She gave me the list of some of the 28 VC’s planning to cross the ditch. It’s awesome. If you are a startup or early stage New Zealand tech company looking for funding: from seed to series B, then cancel your plans for the weekend! (The weather forecast is rubbish anyway).

The application deadline for companies to pitch to the visiting delegation has also been extended from close of business today (Friday 21 July) to 5.00pm on Monday 24th July. The original few days notice just wasn’t enough for entrepreneurs to get their applications in. You can learn more about the application criteria, the pitch dates and access the online application form here. https://www.judgify.me/AWSVCNZ

To get a flavour of just who is planning to visit New Zealand for the two pitch days on 24 August (Auckland) and 25 August (Wellington), get your head around some of these Tier 1 Aussie VC folk:

Once you’ve got that application in, a shortlist of 18 companies will be selected. (12 will pitch in Auckland; 6 in Wellington). You will have almost 5 weeks from the close of applications to get that pitch right. I’d check out the links I’ve posted above. This will give you some idea of the investment criteria adopted by the different visiting VC firms.

Remember, if you want to meet and pitch your business to one of the largest inbound delegations of VCs into New Zealand that I can remember, you have until 5.00pm on Monday to complete your application form. Click here: https://www.judgify.me/AWSVCNZ

Hat doffed then to the team at High Expectation who have helped facilitate this trip from across the pond. They’ve done as amazing job assembling such an awesome delegation.
