Supporting the Bridge Hub Trans-Tasman Water Challenge

July 13, 2020 @ 9:00 pm - October 1, 2020 @ 6:00 am

Free

On Monday 13 July, I hosted a live session on Fieldays TV with Professor David Noone, head of the University of Auckland’s Centre for Climate Research, and Dr Graham Bonnet, lead scientist for Agricultural Systems research at CSIRO.

The session signaled the formal launch of the Trans-Tasman Water Challenge, facilitated by NSW-based Bridge Hub, and supported by the Australia New Zealand Agritech Council. The Water Challenge is designed to identify novel solutions from both countries research and startup communities that address the challenges faced by one of our most critical natural resources; water. The live session included supporting videos from the Hon Michael McCormack, Australia’s Deputy Prime Minister and the Hon Phil Twyford, the New Zealand Minister for Economic Development.

Zespri is sponsoring the $25,000 prize for the most exciting New Zealand-based research application. Wharf42 is actively supporting the Challenge with $5,000 of sponsorship for the most exciting New Zealand startup application.

Given the impact of COVID-19, the application date for submissions has been extended to Friday 28 August.  You can submit your application by visiting the Water Challenge website at www.waterchallenge.co
